The Spirit of Wild Heart Healthcare 〰️
In the midst of a medical system and a world at large that feels profoundly broken, we believe deeply in human connection and embodiment as an antidote to that brokenness. We provide care that is evidence-based, patient-centered, anti-shame and stigma, and places unflagging trust in the innate wisdom and autonomy of our patients. We provide the kind of gentle, slow care that we have found impossible to provide in larger systems with top-heavy structures that demand a relentless focus on patient volume to subsist. We believe it is possible to provide care that is sustainable for both patients and providers.
Our Values
Pleasure
We center pleasure as a guiding force in our lives and work. For us, pleasure encompasses a wide range of experiences, including passion, love, peace, joy, and rest. We live in a culture that discourages us from prioritizing our needs and convinces us that pleasure is selfish. We understand that a healthy culture cannot exist without an honest understanding of our own feelings and needs. We believe that using pleasure as a guiding principle can lead us to greater alignment with those needs and our right to meet them.
Connection
We believe connection and belonging are fundamental human needs. A health care experience should allow us to feel more, not less, connected – to our own bodies, to our sense of personal power, to the important people in our lives, and to those caring for us. We work to invite the honest communication and earn the trust needed to create a sense of connection with each other and our patients. This connection and sense of belonging is not only a tool to optimize healing, it is healing in and of itself.
Authenticity
We create an environment that invites everyone to be the most authentic version of themselves. We make space for the complexities of life – joy, vulnerability, anger, confusion, pleasure, grief, contradiction, sadness, and celebration – all the things that make us human. We meet ourselves and our patients with compassion and acceptance, and extend belonging, never judgement. We offer trust, accountability, humility, and curiosity.
Care in context
Your body and your health exist in context – the context of your ancestry, your identities, your history, and the culture and world at large. Your context should be honored by anyone you trust with your health. We commit to receiving you with openness, humility, and appreciation. We move at your pace and in partnership with you to support your goals and values. We commit to an ongoing process of divestment from the systems that separate all of us from our humanity and liberation.
