Our Values

Pleasure. We center pleasure as a guiding force in our lives and work. For us, pleasure encompasses a wide range of experience, including passion, love, peace, joy, and rest. We live in a culture that discourages us from prioritizing our needs and convinces us that pleasure is selfish. We understand that a healthy culture cannot exist without an honest understanding of our own feelings and needs. We believe that using pleasure as a guiding principle can lead us to greater alignment with those needs and our right to meet them.

Connection. We believe connection and belonging are fundamental human needs. A health care experience should allow us to feel more, not less, connected – to our own bodies, to our sense of personal power, to the important people in our lives, and to those caring for us. We work to invite the honest communication and earn the trust needed to create a sense of connection with each other and our patients. This connection and sense of belonging is not only a tool to optimize healing, it is healing in and of itself.

Authenticity. We create an environment that invites everyone to be the most authentic version of themselves. We make space for the complexities of life – joy, vulnerability, anger, confusion, pleasure, grief, contradiction, sadness, and celebration – all the things that make us human.  We meet ourselves and our patients with compassion and acceptance, and extend belonging, never judgement. We offer trust, accountability, humility, and curiosity.
